Java SE Development Kit 7 Update 80 (64-bit): Download and Setup Guide

Thank you for downloading this release of the JavaTM Platform, Standard Edition Development Kit (JDKTM). The JDK is a development environment for building applications, applets, and components using the Java programming language.

This answer used to describe how to install Oracle Java 7. This no longer works since Oracle end-of-lifed Java 7 and put the binary downloads for versions with security patches behind a paywall. Also, OpenJDK has grown up and is a more viable alternative nowadays.

For Linux and MacOS is recomended to use the open-jdk-jre 1.8 or 1.7 included in your system. If they are not available on your system and you can not install them you can download from here.

For Linux is recomended to use the open-jdk-jre 1.7 or 1.6 included in your system. If they are not available on your system and you can not install them you can download from here.

You will not be able to accessthe source code if you are downloading from a country that is noton this list. We are continuously reviewing this list for additionof other countries.

OpenJDK is the Java Development Kit (JDK) and Java Runtime Environment (JRE) in Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Packages for OpenJDK are made available in Red Hat Enterprise Linux in the same manner as the rest of the content set. OpenJDK packages for Microsoft Windows are also distributed via the JBoss downloads section of the support portal. OpenJDK is also shipped as the JDK and JRE in many containers in the Red Hat Container Catalog

rpm -ivh java-1.8.0-openjdk-1.8.0.65-2.b17.el7_1.x86_64.rpmThis command should install an additional version of the package 65-2.b17.el7_1 and not update or remove a previously installed version. Note that you must first download this package to the system as rpm will not auto download it for you. You can use the yumdownloader tool from the yum-utils package to do this for you.

Hi, I see that the "OpenJDK Update Release Dates" are exactly the same as Oracle. Do you mean that RH typically have their openjdk packages available for deployment or download (Win) on that date?My experience is that the security advisory and packages trickle in a few days later (first RHEL7, then RHEL 6, etc . . ) . If that is the case, then it would be cleaner to list these RH dates instead.

To meet a customer request, we would like to certify our software on RHEL 6.x with RedHat's OpenJDK 11 build. Is this available for free for development and testing purposes? If so, can you please provide a pointer about how to download it? The download link provided in one of the previous posts ( ) only lists OpenJDK downloads for Windows. Thanks.

This software is no longer available for the download. This could be due to the program being discontinued, having a security issue or for other reasons.

I couldn't find anything from IBM website about where to download an IBM jre (specifically, IBM jre1.6.0 J9 2.4 SR6) for a 64-bit Windows OS. Google takes me to a link which looks similar, but that jre would only work on an IBM product, I assume their own server/workstation or something like that.

IBM doesn't consider its JVM to be a product in its own right. It's seen as a supporting technology, a common underpinning, that is used to implement actual products like WebSphere Application Server or Lotus Connections. This is why it can be hard to find information about the JVM specifically, and to the best of my knowledge (which, however, may very well be wrong) it is not formally offered for separate download.

Your customer probably obtained it as part of an IBM product, for example if they're implementing applications in WAS then they're programming against the IBM JVM. It's possible they could also have copied it out of the internals of a product, maybe even a trial download of a product, but that is likely to be pretty dubious from a licensing point of view.

Be warned, the above address is the start of a trail of registration and clicks, littered with please spam me checkboxes, that eventually leads you to an HTTP download that is 300Mb in size only about 100Mb of which probably interests you.

Download Sun/Oracle Java 7u79 or 7u80 from here -downloads-1880260.html. Select rpm package (jdk-7u79-linux-i586.rpm, jdk-7u79-linux-x64.rpm, jre-7u79-linux-i586.rpm or jre-7u79-linux-x64.rpm) or (jdk-7u80-linux-i586.rpm, jdk-7u80-linux-x64.rpm, jre-7u80-linux-i586.rpm or jre-7u80-linux-x64.rpm).

Java latest archive is available on its official site. We recommend to download latest version of Java from Oracle official website. After completing download also extract archive with given commands.

Actually you are getting issue because of old url. You can see Java download url having a parameter AuthParam, Which can be used for a shot time only. If you are using Gnome desktop, you can simply navigate to below url and download.

05 February 2007Avispa 2.1 fetch attachment bug:On Solaris and certain Linux flavors (e.g. Fedora) there is a problem with the feature to fetch attachments. The files will appear to download but the files will not appear in the selected directory. The problem is related to operating system restrictions on renaming files across file systems (disk partitions). The easiest work around is to save all attachments to the /tmp directory and then manually move them to the desired location. The problem was fixed in the 2007B OT.

A: Programs listed using a grey font in the Open Program dialog are available in the database but have not been downloaded yet. Double-click on the row for the program or highlight the line with a single click and then press the "Open" button.

A: Bring up the Open Progam dialog, select a local program, and then click Delete. You will be prompted for confirmation. Note that the Delete button is only active when a program in the local database (shown in dark font) is highlighted. Once the local program is deleted you can download the version that is in the Observing Database.
